SPIRAL AND KNOT IN THE UNIVERSE AND THE BIOLOGICAL WORLD Everything in the universe are entangled together. They are entangled like strings made of chains of knots, which are knotted to form thicker chains of larger knots. These thicker strings in turn are knotted to form ropes of knots, which again are knotted to form even thicker ropes of knots and so on. This multi-fractal nature of entanglement in the universe has similarity with the molecular structures seen in the biological world. It has similarity with the phenomena of knotting and unknotting of the molecular strings, which occur in the realms of proteins and DNAs, for example. One may wonder if the mechanism, which operates in the cosmos, may also be related to the dynamics of life. The formation of spiral structures are abundant in the nature and the living forms. The spirals also play central roles in the building of the cosmic structures. The interactions among the spirals give rise to the formation and the breakdown of the knots. In this new development of science we face the challenge of finding a mathematical description of the fractals, the knots and the spirals that would describe the inter-linkage between the micro- and the macro-worlds, where so called accidental happenings are born from an order, which hides in a fractal network. |

The basis of this discovery lies in the studies of recent images of the cosmos taken by Hubble Telescope, high-energy X-ray satellites, and Very Large Array Radio telescopes. By applying different image mapping, filtering and enhancement techniques with the help of computers, one can gain a very powerful sight into the nature of the universe. Thus one can discover the fractal nature of the cosmos, which is very different from the reality we are used to seeing in the realm of optical telescopes, by using the usual methods of image mapping in rainbow colors, which is adapted to the perceptive apparatus of our eyes. In the time of computer technology, manipulation of digital data helps us to reveal a reality beyond the limitations of visions of the human specie and gives us an understanding of the universe based on the "reality" of things we can not see normally with our eyes. |
